This Privacy Policy explains how PetCare Inc. ("PetCare," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the PetCare website.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text).
• Pet information: pet name, species, breed, age, weight, and photos you upload.
• Care records: reminders, appointments, medications, grooming, food schedules, weight entries, and expenses you add.
• Billing information: subscription plan and status. Payment details are handled directly by PayPal — PetCare never stores your card or PayPal login credentials.
• Usage data: basic technical data (browser type, device type) used to keep the Service secure and reliable.

2. How we use your information

• To provide and operate the Service, including reminders and dashboard features.
• To send transactional emails (verification, password reset, and care reminders you've enabled) via our email provider, Resend.
• To process subscription payments via PayPal.
• To maintain the security and integrity of the Service.

3. Data isolation

Your pets and records are only accessible from your own account. PetCare does not share your data with other users, and we don't operate any public or social features.

4. Third-party services

We use a limited set of third-party providers to operate PetCare: a cloud database provider, Resend for email delivery, and PayPal for subscription billing. Each processes only the data necessary to perform its function.

5. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your pets and records are permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

6. Your choices

• You can update or delete your pet and care information at any time from the dashboard.
• You can control which reminder emails you receive from Settings → Notifications.
• You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone.

7. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including password hashing, encrypted connections, and access controls that prevent one user's data from being visible to another.

8. Children's privacy

PetCare is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by email or through the Service.
